Wrote a check out of one account and coded to new checking account. Does not show money in new.

Error:

Cause:Coding a check to a bank account general ledger code does not do anything to that bank account balance.

Solution:

Code the check to a miscellaneous code. Go to new checking account and click on post deposit. Uncheck the box Deposit for sales income. Code this deposit to miscellaenous code. A balance will now show in this checking account. Journal entries will be correct .

Details:

Writing a check from one checking account and coding to another register will show as a journal entry, however,  it will not show in the one checking account register as a deposit amount. The bank balance and journal for that account will not match. Need to make a deposit as noted above.
