What is the difference between sales tax due and sales tax collected?

  • Sales tax collected is pulled from the header of the customers order, this amount is what the customer actual paid.
  • Sales Tax Due is what RFMS has calculated based off of the set up in store codes and city list.

Sales Tax Due is based off the selection in the store codes and city file.

NOTE: To check the sales tax setting, go to Order Entry, File, Stores and Cities.

Sales Tax collected is the amount on the customers order in the header.

TIP: If the amounts for these are different on the Sales Tax report, sales tax was changed on the order.

EXAMPLE: The sales tax for the order above is $500, same order header now shows $300. When viewing the Sales Tax Report below the sales tax collected shows $300 and sales tax due is $500.
