When editing workers, both countries have Contribution Percent and the Default Percent button added as shown above. This entry allows the user to change the contribution percentage for the worker without having to prepare payroll.
Australia - Superannuation is required, so when adding new employees, the Contribution Percent will automatically inherit the default. The button here is only useful if the decision is made to set the employee to the default value.
New Zealand - Superannuation is not required so that new workers will start with zero Contribution Percent.
When preparing payroll
Australia - If the Employer Contribution Percent is zero, the default percent will automatically populate to the default value.
New Zealand makes no assumptions regarding the contribution percent, so it is now possible to have zero percent and not contribute to the employee's superannuation.
