Steps for correcting inventory record that lost its association with the Product File

Editing fields of a product record with corresponding inventory records, can cause a disassociation between the two modules.  The follow fields should not be editing in Products if there is a corresponding inventory record:

• Product Code
• Supplier
• Private Style
• Private Item Number (if Item)
• Private Description
• Width (if Roll)
• Units 

If any of the fields above were edited in the  Product record, the inventory record should also be adjusted by performing the following steps:

1. Search Inventory
2. Click pencil icon to open the inventory record
3. Click the EDIT button in the lower right-hand corner
4. Click F8 
5. Choose Products
6. Select correct product/color and click finger icon
7. Click OK

NOTE: If item inventory is already associated with a product record, the steps listed above will not change the association to a new record.  The inventory would need to be transferred to a new item before following the steps above.
