General Ledger/Journal is being closed on another workstation - GL is Locked

Error: General Ledger/Journal is being closed on another workstation: username

Cause:When processing the General Ledger or Journal close, the system unintentionally shut down. The system will lock the the General Ledger or Journal at that time of shut down or error.

Solution:

Check all workstations first, if no else is in the General Ledger or Journal, unlock the files.

Click Ok, then make sure no one is in the General Ledger or Journal.

Go to Accounting, File, General Ledger and then GL Dates.

Click Edit icon.

This requires an access code. unless you are on Version 25.1 or greater it requires a Level 1 Password

Uncheck GL is Locked.

The dates should NOT be changed in this window under any circumstances.

Click Save icon.

The dates should NOT be changed in this window under any circumstances.  If the dates rolled forward one month, re-open by going to Accounting > Utilities > G/L Utilities > Re-open Journal.
