In RFMS, there are many ways to control your system, so the higher prices don't effect your business in a negative way. Today, we are going to look at four different ways.
Overhead Margin
You can add cost using the Standard Overhead Margin Set Up System Option.
When using this system option, consider things like rent, advertising, and adminstrative wages that you want the Overhead Margin to cover.
Select Material, Labor, or Material & Labor on the setup screen. Then put in a percentage in the Overhead Margin field.
Loads
Loads are a way to add cost "on paper only". Loads can be used to control cost on goods that you have negotiated a "good cost" on at the time.
Loads are helpful when it comes to tariffs or taxes that have to be paid on a specific product also.
You can set a load on each product or you can globally set a load by using General Range Edit.
Commission Schedules
Order Entry>Utilities>Commission Schedules
Using Commission Schedules, you can program your schedule to calculate what best works for your business. When controlling cost, it is best to configure Commission Schedules for Gross Profit calculation. This way if the job is not profitable it will reduce the amount of commission your sales rep gets.
Commission schedules are assigned per sales rep and can be done in the Sales Rep setup screen (Order Entry >Utilities>Setup>Sales Reps)
More information on Commission Schedules is available here: https://rfms.support.cyncly.com/hc/en-us/articles/50197037846033-Sample-Commission-Schedules
Price Levels
Price Levels can be customized and renamed as shown below. To rename your price levels go to Price Level Prompts system option and change the names as you see fit.
Price levels are programed individually or globally.
To set prices individually, find the product you wish to change and press Add/View/Edit Prices in Products. The screen below now appears and you can type in your formula or price in the respective boxes.
To set price levels globally, go to Products >File>Price Range Edit.
Price Range Edits can be saved for repeat application.
Getting control of your system is one step in handling the every changing tariffs in the industry.
