Surcharge is not enabled by default. Cyncly Payments must review and approve your account before your business can use it.
Before You Request Surcharge
Before you request surcharge, make sure your business:
- Uses RFMS version 26.1 or later
- Processes payments through Cyncly Payments
- Has a registered business location in a state where applicable laws allow surcharge on eligible transactions
- Does not use Month-End Billing with Cyncly Payments
- Does not use a cash discount program
Eligibility is based on your registered business location, not your customer's location.
For complete eligibility information, see Cyncly Payments Surcharge: Eligibility and Requirements.
Request Surcharge
Contact your Cyncly representative, or email acctmaintenance@cyncly.com and let them know you are interested in enabling surcharge.
During the review, you may be asked to complete a surcharge request form or provide additional business information. Cyncly Payments reviews your registered business location and account setup to confirm eligibility.
After Surcharge Is Enabled
After surcharge is enabled, Cyncly Payments automatically determines whether each payment qualifies and calculates the surcharge when applicable.
You do not choose or enter the surcharge amount during the payment process. Not every card payment qualifies for surcharge.
Turn Surcharge Off
You can request to have surcharge turned off after it has been enabled.
Contact your Cyncly representative to start the process.
If you want to enable surcharge again later, Cyncly Payments must review your eligibility before turning it back on.
